275,000 tonnes of plastic are used each year in the UK, that's about 15 million bottles per day. Most families throw away about 40kg of plastic per year, which could otherwise be recycled. The use of plastic in Western Europe is growing about 4% each year. Plastic can take up to 500 years to decompose. It is for these reasons that we at Iceni use 100% recyclable plastic. 1 recycled plastic bottle would save enough energy to power a 60 watt light bulb for 3 minutes. We encourage all our customers to dispose of their empty bottles in recycle containers.

How should I recycle plastic bottles?

More and more borough councils throughout the UK are offering recycling facilities making it easier for you. When you put plastic bottles in recycling banks, or your recycle bins, always remove the bottle tops. This also enables them to be crushed more easily so they occupy less space.

Alternatively, save plastic bottles for storage and small plastic bottles can be used in the garden for growing seedlings or as a simple cloche for plants.

Iceni is bottled at source in Duxford, Cambridgeshire at a modern, purpose built bottling plant. It is the most technically advanced plant of its kind in Europe.

Iceni offers a real alternative to imported waters that incur substantial food miles during distribution. We are less than 60 miles from London and the South East where bottled water consumption is highest.

Iceni is an English natural mineral water. Filtered through deep chalk strata acquiring a natural balance of minerals, it is naturally purified, with a clean, refreshing taste. It is free from pollution and naturally high in calcium and low in sodium.

Some other mineral waters drawn from ancient sources will take many years to be replenished, whereas Iceni is a young water drawn from a continuously replenished aquifier in the heart of our country - so it doesn’t need to travel too far to reach you.

Purely English and naturally good for you.
